Forge of Empires is a free-to-play strategy game that was developed by InnoGames. The game takes players through the different eras from the Stone Age to the colonization of Jupiter Moon with a wide variety of buildings, battle units, and wonders of the world to build. The player has to develop a city and enlarge its territory through military campaigns or diplomatic means. The player must also expand their economy by building houses that provide coins, production buildings that produce goods and decorations, and cultural buildings that increase happiness. Researching technologies via “Forge Points” that refill on a meter allows the player to unlock new buildings, units, and bonuses for the city.

The game has gained massive popularity since its launch in 2012 and earned InnoGames more than a billion euros in lifetime revenue as of the last financial reports, according to VentureBeat. The German-based video game developer has expanded their browser-based games to mobile devices with iOS and Android releases as well as continued to push forward with the development of additional titles. The game is available in more than 25 languages, with new updates and special events bringing something fresh to the table regularly.
